In order to make the carpet as comfortable as possible and to ensure an additional thermic and acoustic insulation, it is necessary to use a support layer under the carpet – underlay.
Underlay support layer is made of polyurethane foam and has the following advantages:
- It increases the comfort
- It has a lifecycle equal to the carpet’s lifecycle
- It protects the carpet against permanent usage
- It ensures an excellent thermic and acoustic insulation
- It is permeable and can be also applied on wood
- It can also be fixed as support layer for the carpet, being a thermic barrier between the cement screed and the carpet and increasing the thermic comfort
- It is appropriate for hotels, restaurants, offices or residences
- The thickness of Underlay layer can vary between 6 and 11 mm
- It can also be used for floating installation, with grippers in which the carpet is mounted or with double adhesion
- It is recyclable
- It is an ecological product
GRIPPERE
They are used for floating installation: the grippers can be fixed in the support layer by using studs for concrete or by adhesion with special adhesives for wood and concrete. In the pre-mounted studs the carpet is laid over an Underlay layer.
Advantages:
- The installation is quick
- The installation doesn’t involve the adhesion of the carpet on the support layer by using adhesives
- The carpet can be easily replaced by removing it from grippers, diminishing the time of inactivity in the area
- The system ensures an excellent thermic and acoustic insulation
- It creates a thermic barrier between the cement screed and the carpet, helping to increase the thermic comfort
- It can be applied on the wood.
